To become a professional designer  , you can go for the  examination called nift exam after your 12th and pursue B.Des (Fashion Design/Leather Design/Accessory Design/Textile Design/Knitwear Design/Fashion Communication) , if you clear it . (NIFT) is a set of 16 public institutions. Every year a national-level entrance exam is conducted for NIFT admission by NIFT Delhi. The exam is a gateway for bachelor's courses in Design.
In the 2018 ranking of the best fashion schools in the world, National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, was ranked 17th.
