hi,
You have to graduate with either a BTech degree or a BSc degree in any domain that you're interested in from a reputed college, either a science or mathematics field would prove to be extremely useful, then you can go for specialized courses in Astrophysics
Specifically you can apply to the Dual Degree Program at IIST. Admission here is based on their JEE scores and also grade 12 marks are taken into consideration aswell. IIST provides you with a BTech degree in a tenure of 3 years and then depending on your CGPA, the college assigns you the subject that you'd pursue your masters in. They only enroll 20 students a year of which only 5 of them get into Astronomy and Astrophysics.
hello,
you are doing well to study astrophysics
1. you need to take a bachelors degree in astrophysics ,if your college is not providing the same then go for any bachelors degree in the field of science and maths.
2.try to do summer trainings and attending workships, apply for the summer internships
3. get a masters degree in the same field .
4. enquire about research assistant positions
5. get a doctoral degree in the field of astrophysics .
good luck!
