The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is one of the oldest Institutions in India providing education in European medicine in Asia. It is situated in Pondicherry, the capital of union territory of Puducherry in the southern part of the country. JIPMER is funded by the Central Government and given complete autonomy over its administration.
