Greetings, aspirant!

Neuropsychology is a field that studies the influence of one's neurological components of one's body influences their cognition and behaviour.

A neuropsychologist is a person that is certified to diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for aforementioned ailments.

When compared to a psychiatrist, you can say that a psychiatrist deals with mental problems caused by past experiences and traumas whereas a neuropsychologist deals with mental conditions caused by neurological disturbances.

In order to become a neuropsychologist in India, you need to get your bachelor's degree in the field of psychology followed by a master's degree in the same. After this, you need to pursue your doctorate program which usually lasts 5-7 years and is primarily composed of research in the field of neuropsychology or clinical neuropsychology.

There are certain colleges offering this course such as IBS, Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Amity institute of behavioural health and allied sciences etc.

Hope this information helped you!

Best of luck!!
