DUKHI is a hindi word, which means Sad in english terms. In terms of english sad can be termed as a uncountable singular noun. And sadness is an abstract noun.

Because it cannot be touched, you can only feel the sadness.

When people feel low, or lose their moral or hope, then, generally they go into a state of mind which is called sadness.

In case of savere sadness one may suffer with depression or post traumatic stress.

So, generally it is advised to never keep yourself sad for long times.
