If you are from government college like iit nits and that too not all colleges only some of the colleges offer you flexibility in payment of the tuition fees. But you have to pay in course of four years. Otherwise they won't give you your btech degree.

But this is not the case with the private colleges. You need to pay the fees as per the deadline otherwise they won't allow you to sit in the examination.

In case if you do not pay the fee for the final year, then you will be refrained from writing the final year exam. Also, your degree will go on hold and you will not be getting your degree. So, it is advisable to clear your all the dues before the final exam as in the last moment, you won't be able to do so and will not be allowed to write exams.
