Yeah! it happens with so many student i have seen, well i would suggest

You first to solve, solved numerical numerical as much as you can,then move towards unsolved

Slowly you will see you gain some confidence and then you will as well able to solve unsolved problem as well.

And don't let yourself down if didn't able to solve unsolve problem you just have to do is back to solve problem and start understanding the solved one.

One more thing i would suggest you to first  write all the data given in the question and then proceed, you will find easier to solve.
