Hello!

Boiler fed water is nothing but the water is fed into the boiler for the production of stream purpose. The basic requirement for boiler fed water is that they should be free from turbidity, oil, dissolved gases, alkali and hardness causing substances. These are the requirements.

Drawbacks are not there until you use hard water which leads to the formation of scale and sludge. That prevents efficient heat transfer.
