AMCAT (Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive Test) is a test to evaluate the reasoning Skills, Technical Skills and Aptitude Skills of a candidate who is seeking Job in top MNC’s. Amcat is also known as employability assessment test. The Skills of the candidates will be measured in a Statistical Approach if they attend the test. AMCAT is conducted in order to assess the aptitude, reasoning and technical skills of students and freshers . AMCAT is an assessment platform to provide the scores based on their skills for the students who takes up the test. Aspiring Minds conducts AMCAT Test for engineering freshers who apply for IT jobs. The objective of AMCAT test is to grade the students based on their performance.

CAT Exam and AMCAT Exam are both different from eachother.

CAT (COMMON ADMISSION TEST) is a management entrance exam which takes place at All India Level conducted by IIMs.

Whereas AMCAT (Aspiring Minds  Computer Adaptive Test) is a test to evaluate the reasoning skills, techinal skills and aptitude skills of a candidate who is seeking job in top MNCs.

If you have interest in business then you can apply for CAT Exam for admmission in IIMs all over India. CAT consists of 3 sections which are :- Verbal and Reading Comprehension , Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantative Ability. Eligibilty for the same is you must have a Bachelor's Degree in any field and must acquire minimum 50%. If you are in your final year of bachelor's degree and are anticipating results for the same can also apply.

If you want to start with a job you can give AMCAT. Everybody is eligible to write this exam. According to your score companies would send you interview letter. There are optional modules available which you can choose according to your interests such as :- computer programming, electronics and communication, accounts , human resources , etc. One thing to note is that there should be  a three month gap between two consecutive exams ( in case you are appearing for second time ) .

Hi Rishu,

AMCAT is an employability assesment test. It is an aptitude test conducted by companies in collaboration with AMCAT. It consists Verbal, Quant and Logical reasoning just like CAT. Through AMCAT if you get good score, a lot of companies will shortlist you for interviews for Job.

CAT is for doing Masters in Business Administration. It is for doing MBA from reputed colleges.
