In case the number of Candidates applying for a particular Program in a college is more than the number of seats available, colleges will make a merit list as per the Best of Four/Three required for the Program. The college will approve the Candidature only on the basis of merit and availability of seats. In many colleges like BITS the direct admission given to the topper of the respective board.

On the basis of your merit score which means on the basis of your 12th marks- which includes your best of four marks which is calculated according to the requirement of the course in which you are seeking admission to.
