This represents the subdivisions under the BC category based on the caste. For example candidates who belong to ambalakaran are grouped under 1, caste such as hallikar are grouped under 3A. Each of these subcategories has different reservation percentages for education and employment.

CAT 1 - 4%

CAT 2A - 15%

CAT 2B - 4%

CAT 3A - 4%

CAT 3B - 5%

Apart from these categories, SC get 15% reservation and ST gets 3% reservation in Karnataka.
