Convergent evolution is basically when the anatomy of some parts of animals are same but their function is different due to the difference in the surrounding or environmental condition. For example , forelimbs of tetrapods. The anatomy is same but functions are different.

If the adaptive radiation taking place in the different types of life forms in different geographical area but facing the similar type of selection pressure then,similar type of features evolve this is known as convergent evolution.
