Hello prabhas,The difference between institute of technology and college of engineering is that

In Institute of technology there is more emphasis in practical use of engineering science via computer, electronic media etc . Application of knowledge is more emphasised .

Whereas in College of engineering - its a old name , must be old institute . Awards professional degree like bachelor of engineering (BE) or Btech . Theory is more present in such courses .

Better to prefer an institute than a college of engineering.
