Hello..

In general diploid cells basically contain two complete set of chromosome where as haploid cells have half the number of chromosomes as diploid, in other words haploid cells only contain one complete set of chromosome. They also differ in their division and growth. Diploid cells reproduce by meiosis resulting in production of daughter cells that are exact replicates. Haploid cells are product of mitotis- meiosis is a typical cell division in where diploid cells divide and give rise to haploid germ cells, and a haploid cells merge with another haploid resulting in fertilization e.g. egg and sperm.
Example of diploid include, skin cells, blood cells, muscles cells.
Example of haploid include, sexual reproduction cells such as sperm and ova.

Hope this helps you.

Hello, All chromosomes exists in pairs i.e. one from each parent. Consider the letter X as the chromosome, on arm is taken form the mother and the other form father. This will be called as haploid cell. Now consider a 3D shaped X, two arms from mother and the other two form father, this will be called Diploid cell. Haploid cells are formed due to meiosis and diploid due to mitosis. Since every cell has a nucleus and every nucleus has a chromosome , we can classify all the cells reproductive cells as haploid and the remaining cells as diploid cells. Eg for the haploid cells is gamete cells and for diploid cells is blood cells.

Hope this helps!
