In JOSAA you will get three options-

Float,slide,freeze

Float option - If you got a seat in Josaa ,and you are not satisfied with your current seat then you can go for float option. According to your rank ,your choice can upgrade in the upcoming rounds . Else you can continue with your current seat.

Slide option -Same as above ,but here college remains the same as you got in that round, only branch upgrades according to your filled choices.

Freeeze option - It means you are satisfied with your current seat, and you are accepting it.

There are 2 options available Freeze and float. In freeze you finalize the seat and in float you leave the seat and after that it's allotted to someone else.

Dear Amhsree, Freezing a seat means you are happy with the branch and institute JoSAA allocated, and you do not want to participate in further rounds. Floating means you will accept the seat but will wait if a better seat (in any institute) is offered in subsequent rounds. If not then you can go back to previously alloted seat.
