Genetic Engineering, or genetic modification, is the process of manipulating an organism’s genome using biotechnology. The process involves inserting a new DNA into the host genome. This is done by first isolating and copying the genetic material of interest using molecular cloning methods to generate a DNA sequence. Another way is to synthesize the DNA, and then insert it into the host organism.
