Google Summer of Code is a Open Source Development Program.it is 12 weeks long from May to August.Google Shortlists some Open Source Projects for which students can apply to make a contribution eg development debugging etc on these projects.Selected Students are mentored by the open source project parent Organisation for coding and other tasks.

At the time of applying a student should be 18 years old and Studying into any recognised institution. for applying for any project you should be familiar with version control and any one programming language.

there are total three evaluations,google gives Stipend for every Sucessful evaluation for india it was total $2400 as of 2017
