Dear Student,

The names of these two things are just similar but also the difference between these two is just little.

Gravitation : It is the force of attraction between earth and any body having mass .

Gravitational field : It is the area in which the gravitation effect can be felt. Means inside this area the body gets attracted towards earth whereas , outside this area the body will not be attracted by earth.

Hope this helps.

Hi Varsh,

Gravitation is a force that is exerted by earth on each and every body on it while Gravitational field is the specific area where the force of gravitation works. It is same as electricity and electric field, magnetism and magnetic field.

Feel free to ask doubts in the Comment Section.
