The coast line is the area where land meets the sea or ocean.

  • It can be also defined  as the line which forms the boundary between the land and the ocean or sea.
  • In the simplest words it is the land along a sea.
  • Coast line measures around 620,000 kilometres  on Earth.
  • It is Waves, tides, and currents which help in the formation of coastlines .
  • Coastlines are formed when waves crash onto shore, and erode the land.
  • Coastlines are important as it provide unique homes for marine plants and animals etc.
  • Coasts also help us in understanding natural events, such as weather and changing sea levels.
