This is the actual rank you earned in the test. But once the final merit list is made public, you will see some differences in your rank. This is because many students preparing for medical and also given engineering test will not register for CAP rounds. So these students will be now thrown out of the merit list. Now, this is your merit number. Some people may call this as rank but don't get confused between two.
