Standard time is also called as Local time in a country or a region during which synchronisation of clocks happens without any intervention of solar time. This is used when Day light saving is not in use. In other words, winter time is called Standard time. During Day light saving, the clocks are set one hour forward so that evenings have more light than the mornings. This is usually helps in increase of productivity in countries like US where Self employed are more. This means waking up earlier by an hour and utilising the sun light and reduce the usage of power. But during standard time, the clocks are brought back to normalcy and are synchronised with the local time of the country or region.
