Dear Ayush, if you are talking about JEE Advanced, it means that you should be in the top 20% of the students who gave he same board as yours in Class 12. Say for example your 12th board is CBSE, you should have scored marks enough to be in the top 20%. If 1000 students have written this exam, then you should be somewhere in the top 200.
