N.I.O.S stands for National Institute of Open Schooling. It is a Central Government's initiation and is one of the largest Open Schooling system for Secondary and Senior Secondary candidates. It facilitates their students in a phased manner to provide education at pre-degree level courses, secondary level and vocational training. Candidates who could not complete their schooling due to various factors; those who could not cope up with regular studies due to different reasons; or those who wants to pay more attention to other courses like sports or performing arts opt for this system of Education. Students who have passed from N.I.O.S board are eligible to take admission in any regular school or college for further education.
