Latest: NMMS Sample Papers
The NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) Tamil Nadu results for the 2025-26 academic year were declared on February 18, 2026.
The NMMS cutoff for selection is divided into two parts: the minimum qualifying marks (to pass) and the district-wise merit cutoff (to win the scholarship).
1. Minimum Qualifying Marks (Passing Marks)
To be considered for the merit list, students must score the following minimum percentages in both the MAT and SAT papers:
Category
Minimum Percentage (Each Paper)
Marks Needed (Out of 90)
General / OBC
40%
36 Marks
SC / ST / PwD
32%
29 Marks
Merit Cutoff (Selection Marks)
Simply passing does not guarantee the scholarship. NMMS Tamil Nadu has a fixed number of scholarship slots. The final "selection cutoff" depends on the performance of other students in a specific district.
Average Competitive Range: Historically, students who score a combined total of 110-130 out of 180 have a very high chance of selection in most districts.
Tie-Breaking: If two students have the same total score, the board gives preference to the one with the higher MAT score.
