Normalization process ranks all the candidates on a comparative scale on all the sessions. In this process, the marks obtained in the easier session may be reduced marginally and substituted on the harder session depending on the average performance of the candidate. This process justifies the candidate while protecting their actual performance. If there is not much difference between the session on average, then there wont be difference in the normalized marks as well.
