The d block elements are the transition metals.d stands for diffused .The d block elements are the ones in the middle section, groups 3-12.

THE P block covers more type of elements and consist of the non metals, the metalloids, and the poor metals also called transition metals.The P  block elements are the last six columns on the right ie the green, light blue, darker blue, maybe and crimson columns. Theses are numbered from 13-18 groups.
