Hello sneha,

Humans have to hunt, grow and gather food but many living organisms are not constrained . Plants ,algae and many species of bacteria can make their own substance through the process of photosynthesis.

As a rule , animals can not photosynthesise but all rules have some exceptions . The latest potential deviant is the pea aphid, a foe to the farmers and a friend to geneticists . Aphids use pigments called carotenoids to harvest the sun's energy and make atp.

The aphids are among the few animals which can make pigments for themselves using the genes that they stole from the fungi.

It is seen green aphids produce more atp than normal ones.
