PIE stands for Production and Industrial Engineering. This branch has growth aspects both in engineering and management but there are many domains coming from above branch like production engineering, Industrial engineering, Industrial management, Industrial Engg and Management and so this branch is diminishing. 

With this branch you can apply in PSU's, you can do Mtech in Production engineering, you have a good scope in automobile companies as well.

Also you can do MS in Mining or production engineering from abroad and widen your scope.
