The post of administrative officer in government varies according to the nature of job and the department of the government. Generally it is found that the post of administrative officer is held by a bureaucrat(IAS/PCS) but it may not be same across all government departments as every government department is different and so is the functioning of the departments. So it varies according to the nature of job and the requirement of the job of the department that who becomes the administrative officer for that particular job or department.
