NIOS is national institute of open schooling under the union government of India. This schooling administer the examination for secondary and senior secondary similar to the boards of CBSE etc.,

Stream 1 is applicable to all the new learners and the admission process is done in two blocks.

Stream 2 is for those candidates who are eligible but couldn't attend the boards examination of secondary or senior secondary levels for same subject.

Stream 1 :

For all Learners/ Freshers

Applicable for all LearnersThe admission is open in two blocks in a yearThe examination is conducted in April/May,  for Block 1 Learners and October/ November, for Block 2 Learners.

Stream 2 :

For unsuccessful/failures of recognised boards to appear in Oct- exam to save precious one year.

The learners who had appeared but could not clear or who were eligible but could not appear the Public Examination of Secondary/Senior Secondary Levels from any recognised Examination Board for the same subject combination in which they had appeared.The learners of this stream will be eligible to appear in the October-November,  Secondary/Senior Secondary Public Examinations of NIOS.
