The average packages differ depending on college type:

1. Tier-1 institutions (IITs, NITs, BITS, etc.): Average package ranges are typically 10–20 LPA, with various top offers periodically much higher than the average.
2. Tier-2 institutions (State universities, decent private colleges): Average packages are typically in the 4–7 LPA range.
3. Tier 3 colleges: The average is often roughly 2.5–4 LPA, depending on location, stream and support from placement cell.

These numbers depend on industry demand, personal performance and placement cell effectiveness, but the best thing is to focus on developing skills and internships in order to be considered even if your college is a Tier 3.
