The average salary of a Drug Inspector is Rs. 50,000 per month to Rs. 1.5 Lakhs per annum depending on the experience, knowledge, skills etc. Drug Inspectors appointed by Central Government will be different from the Inspectors appointed by the State Government. The initial salary for freshers would be Rs. 40,000 per month.

The candidates must pass in graduation in Pharmacy/ Medicine/ Microbiology/ Clinical Pharmacy/ any relevant course from a recognized Board.

The candidates must appear in Drug Inspector examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to qualify for Drug Inspector appointed by Central Government.

State Public Service Commission (SPSC) conducts Drug Inspector exam for appointing State level Drug Inspectors.
