Hello Abhishek,

To decide what you should study to get a job in the Railways, first you need to know what kind of job are you looking to target.

Being a gangman, cleaner, sweeper, strecher hammal etc. is also job in Railways and you dont even need to study further after 10th class.

So please define what job you want.

For jobs such as loco pilot, section engineer, maintenance cadre, electrical branches etc. - you need to take mathematics, chemistry, physics as core subjects in 11th class. Further you will need at least a graduate / technical degree in science such as B.Tech. /B.Sc. etc.. This shall be followed by competitive exams that Railways conduct (described in the other answer)

For non technical jobs - such as accountant, clerk, ticket examiner, luggage / parcel incharge etc., you need commerce degree (B. Com) or any equivalent graduate degree. So you should opt for commerce or arts in 11th class. Railways competitive exams and interviews need to be cleared in these cases also.

Thanku.
