Hello aspirant, Institutes and universities has a big difference that University affiliates other colleges or institutes.A University can have several types of courses like MBA,BTECH.,MTECH.,Hotel management,B.A. etc. All in one place, while a institute offers only specific courses. It can generally be seen that Universities have a bigger campus than institutes. Some private Universities are there which doesn't affiliates any college, yet they offer various courses.
Hope this helps.

Hello aspirant, universities are mostly comprising of all courses and availability. Whereas colleges have specific courses. Like galgotia college has btech, mtech and MBA but galgotia university has all courses available. For UG correspondence course in BCA you can apply to a university itself. All the best
