If You want to go Into any NIT with any stream In general category and the Other States that is without any reason then around at around 40000 ranks i.e. 110 marks You can get NIT being in general category that too in other states, But you need to go to Nagaland with Material Science and Engineering. I strongly discourage you to do such mistake, Because NITs in Nort East stands Nowhere and You will end up with frustration, Never go to any NIT in the North East if You are someone from North or Central India. You can join even much better college in India.
If you want something good NITs then Your rank must be within 18000 i.e. more than 150 marks in a General category if You belong to some good state like Rajasthan, UP, Haryana, Punjab then you may have the advantage of home state quota in Your home NIT.
