There are 2 types of opportunities for an Assistant Professor. A full time opportunity and a part time opportunity. As a full time Assistant Professor one is expected to stay in the Institution during all the working hours of the Institution. Irrespective of no.of teaching hours or no.of classes a Professor has for that day, he/she has to remain in the Institution all through the working hours. This is because the Institution has hired him/her for full time. The other is a part time opportunity and the professors are here called visiting faculty. This is wherein experience faculty are invited as guest lecturers of part time for few hours a day or a certain number of classes a day. Such faculty can leave once they are done with teaching the subject. But this is again as mentioned, reserved for experienced faculty. Being a fresher with an economy that is yet to revive after the pandemic and opportunities yet to start showing up, unfortunately, visiting faculty might not be an option for you.
