Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli was established as a third component college of TANUVAS through the Tamil Nadu government. It is a multi speciality hospital.

Separate hostel facilities have been made for boys and girls. Student's mess facility has been created in the hostel from the establishment onwards to provide healthy food at rational cost.
