Frankly speaking, Guttation is of less importance to plants or rather say may be harmful as well. It may cause injury to the plant. Important minerals and nutrients are lost through Guttation. Salt may get deposited at leaf blades effecting the evaporation process. Hydathodes can allow microorganisms to get into plant and infect them. Hope this helps.
