Hello,

The triboelectric series is a list that ranks materials according to their tendency to gain or lose electrons. The relative position of the two objects on this series will define which object gains electrons and which object loses electrons.

The triboelectric series is a type of contact electrification on which certain materials become electrically charged after they are separated from a different material with which they were in contact.

I hope your question has been answered properly.

All the best!

Hi

The triboelectric series is a list or series in which materials are ranked according to their tendency to gain or lose electrons.

The triboelectric series lists materials in the order of:-
  • decreasing tendency to charge positively i.e losing electrons and
  • increasing tendency to charge negatively i.e gaining electrons

The materials which are in the middle of the triboelectric series list  do not show strong tendency to behave either way i.e for gaining or losing electrons

Thankyou
