Hello student UG stands for Undergraduate and PG stand for post graduate, they course you pursue afterwards class 12 is your Undergraduate course (UG). And the course you purchase after your bachelor degree is post graduate course  (PG).

To appear in UPSC CSE you need not to hold a PG degree as eligibility criteria says that candidates must passed or appearing graduation in any discipline of minimum 3year duration from a recognized university.

Feel free to comment if you've any doubt

Good luck

Hi

UG means undergraduate program PG means post graduate programme

UG is basically your bachelor's course like BCom ,BSc ,BTech ,MBBS etc that one can pursue after the completion of your 10 + 2
While
PG is your masters course that one can pursue after bachelors degree ,the example of PG courses include M.SC , M. com ,M tech ,MA etc

Coming to whether doing UG and PG will be helpful for UPSC or Not

Doing PG i. e Masters course after your bachelor's degree is completely up on  you if you want to appear in UPSC civil services examination but you must do UG course i. e bachelor's degree  if you want to appear in UPSC civil services examination

This is because,
To be eligible for UPSC examination , it is mandatory to have a bachelor's degree
