Hi

Ziegler natta catalyst is the mixture of :-

  • triethylaluminium (C2H5)3Al and
  • titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4).


  • Ziegler natta catalyst is used to produce High density polythene.
  • It is used in the synthesis of polymers of 1-alkenes
  • This catalyst was discovered by German chemist named Karl Ziegler
