i would like say you could have chance getting 2 sectors where as the IT and core sector the IT is the infromation technology where as the Core means related to your electronics where as if you join the good colleges you can get good placements oppurtunities where as the compamies that hire the ECE guys are TEXAS INSTRUMENTS,MICROCHIP,ADOBE,9leaves many more

If you opt to study Electronic Engineering then you have the chance to work as a Circuit Designer, VLSI Design Engineer, Scientist at ISRO, DRDO, etc.

You may get job in companies in which Electronic equipments and circuits can be made.

Just study your course very well and try to get internship in reputed firms.
