Hi Anju,

There are general guidelines as well as state specific guidelines to become drug inspector.

For UPSC and many other states:

  • B.pharma Or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology/ Microbiology.
  • Additional 18 months experience in manufacturing or testing of Schedule C or C1 drugs is also asked in UPSC but is not essential.

Some States like Karnataka, Goa have preference over the knowledge of language.

Many states do not require any experience after B. pharma to apply for Drug Inspector post like AP, Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

The age limit is differs from state to state. Eg. Age Limit in UP is 21-40 years whereas in Madhya Pradesh its 18-40 years.
