Comprehensive Guide: IIT's | NIT's | IIIT's
Hello Srujan
Firstly congrats on scoring well in the JEE Advanced.
With a JEE Adv AIR of 4119, you can expect to get a few good IITs. If you have a very specific branch in mind like cse or ece than it might be difficult to get placed in a good IIT.
IIT Dhanbad and IIT Jodhpur are two of the good IITs where you can expect to get into top branches. A friend of mine with a rank around 4000 last year opted for ECE in IIT Dhanbad.
According to me, the tag of an IIT in the graduation certificate matters a lot. So I would suggest you opt for an IIT instead of NIT.
As per as branch upgrade is concerned, yes you can try upgrading your branch later. The eligibility for branch upgrade varies from college to college but it is not impossible to do so. With a certain CGPA, you can expect to get through branch upgradation in an IIT.

Finally, I would like to say that it is your life and your decision matters. So please choose wisely and Good LUCK!
Hello Srujan Tn.
If IIT tag is your first preference , then you should definetly go for IIT and consider branch change.
Branch change is not that difficult, keeping in mind that you have cracked jee with such good scores.
Otherwise, if you different plans for first year college then, you can even opt for NITK cse.
Hope this will be helpful.
