Hi, Practically the difference is MBA is for those who want to get holistic approach of the program and for PGDM, one chooses to pursue their specialization. Content wise there is not much difference. Also the main reason by post graduate courses are named as PGDM is because that institute is an autonomous body and is not affiliated to any university.  For Example IIMs, does not offer MBA degrees but give PGP Diplomas.
