GME is one year course This is a  course approved by the Directorate General of Shipping and provided for mechanical engineering and naval architecture graduates willing to become marine engineers.

The course includes designing, maintenance and construction of naval vessels and ships. Different GME Colleges charge a different fee. But the average course fee charged ranges from INR 24,000 to 2.4 Lacs depending upon the institution. graduates of the course can find career opportunities such as banking, teaching as well. The average fresher salary of GME Graduate ranges from INR 1 to 11 Lacs.
