Hello Aspirant
B. tech stands for bachelor of technology.
BE stands for Bachelor of Engineering
B. tech is a professional course and is mostly provided by institutes specializing in such professional courses. The degree is more skill-oriented course. The course is more focused upon practical application rather than the theoretical aspects. The course is more updated as compared to BE. Offered by the infamous IITs, NITs, DTU etc.
BE is mostly offered by institutes which offer many courses, including arts, science and business courses. The degree is more of a knowledge-oriented course. The focus is on the theory and focuses on a strong foundation. The course is less updated as compared to B.Tech as theory is focused upon. Offered by NSIT, BITS PILANI, Anna University, etc.
In India, the duration of both the courses is 4 years
Both courses follow the semester pattern, with 2 semesters per year and a total of 8 semesters in 4 years
Orientation and approach of both the courses may be different but if we closely look into the course content then they are more or less the same
AICTE has clarified that it does not consider the two degrees as different and grants equal recognition to both
Both the degrees have an almost similar scope and future
If a student wishes to join a field that is engaged with the manufacturing of electronic equipment, then the BE field is more suitable for him. If a person wishes to join a field that makes electronic equipments more attractive by modifying them, then the B.Tech course is more suitable. There are lots of specializations available in both these fields for students to choose from. Students can choose either of these fields on the basis of their plans for the future and their strengths.
If there is some notification for the recruitment of B.E. degree holder then B.Tech. degree holders are also eligible to apply and vice-versa
there is no considerable difference between B.E. and B. Tech. and no degree is superior over the other. It is the college and the branch that matters. While taking admission one must select a college or university which has better infrastructure, faculty, campus placement and the course is approved by AICTE and UGC.
Best of luck!
Hii
There is no differenece between b.tech & B.E
B.tech means bachelor in technology & B.E means Bachelor in enginnering. Those colleges who have literature section( means other than enginnering courses such as B.pharm, B.sc & other this type of courses ) will provide B.E degree & colleges who have only enginnering section will provide b.tech degree. Both the degrees have same value. So don't be sad. Hope this information is helpful for you.

Dear Dharmesh,
Hope you are doing well. I am giving you in detail answer to this very good question.
Both B.E. and B.Tech refer to quite similar types of degrees, and thus it is very difficult to make out any distinction between them. B.E. stands for Bachelor of Engineering whereas B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology. Both are undergraduates degrees conferred after completion of four year of program of engineering studies at college or university level. Generally, B.Tech. focuses more on the technical aspect, whereas B.E. focuses more on the theoretical aspect.
Also, it has been seen that the scope and meaning of these degrees may vary from country to country. B.Tech. is generally conferred in the Commonwealth Nations, the United States, Canada, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Republic of Ireland, India, and elsewhere. B.E. may or may not be accredited by a national professional society.
B.Tech. and B.E. have similar types of traits, and thus provide the same scope and future. However, B.Tech. is more focused on the technical aspect of engineering and therefore, provides a practical approach towards the studies. On the other hand, B.E. is more focused on the theoretical aspect providing the in-depth knowledge of the theories. Another difference that occurs between them is regarding the implementation of these engineering degrees by the different countries. On a larger scale, there is not much difference between them.
Indian history also provide a slight difference between the two. Right after independence of India we have two types of universities, one that offers degrees in many fields like Sciences, Arts, Education and Engineering too, and the second set of universities (were named as institutes) offer only degrees in engineering. Universities those offer other degrees along with engineering named their engineering degree as BE (Bachelor of Engineering) and Institute constituted for only Engineering studies named their degree as B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology). Now as AICTE approve courses most of the courses are same and identical for B.E. and B.Tech. The universities those offering B.E. when started new courses named them to B.Tech too. Further, in many Universities that got converted to Technology Institutes, the B.E. degree has changed to B.Tech, but the curriculum more or less remained unchanged.
No degree, BE or B.Tech is superior than the other in terms of theory or experiment. BE and B.Tech are same. Both of them are same and have similar scope and future. If there is some notification for BE, B.Tech’s are also eligible to apply and vise versa.
