Through comedk, probably a rank less than 600 and 1100 is safe for CS in RV and PES respectively. For cet also, it is somewhere near to it but can go lower if you are from any category other than general. In addition to this, if you are joining through cet, there are many quotas available. Some of my classmates even have rank near 3000. This is only applicable to cet and not comedk.

This is in reference to admission in the year 2012.

You can also check the cutoff ranks of previous years on the official website of cet and comedk. The numbers are pretty reliable and you can plan accordingly.
