Here are some tricks which might be helpful
1. While in GD follow the basics of sitting up straight, looking everyone in the eye while making your point and listen attentively to others while they speak.
2. Make your point but avoid cutting in when others are talking
3. Be confident
4. If you feel you didn't have much to contribute, summarise the discussion
5. Don't be afraid to start
6. Brush up your GK
7. Stay updated at all time

secondly , you have to speak and participate equally in GD , that nakes a successful GD

you have to have good listening skills also that is very important in GD

try to take tha initiatuve bacuse it makes your impression really well

There are many  factors to be considered for a successful group discussing. First of all,  you need to have good knowledge of the subject. If you're not sure, you should listen to what others have to say first and then ask questions. listening is probably more important than speaking as it shows that you are courteous towards others. You need to regulate your language and pace your points without being either too dominating or too quiet.
