As per the latest notifications received in the wake of the massive surge in COVID-19 cases in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC ) on Friday announced that all schools in its jurisdiction will remain closed till the end of this year, i.e, December 31, 2020 .

So probably Colleges are also remain shut down until the end of this year .

However, schools can reopen from November 23 in other parts of the state, strictly adhering to all safety protocols.

As we know that as of now in Maharashtra cases are gradually decreasing and the circumstances are becoming favorable and the Maharashtra government has decided to keep the colleges closed, as a preventional measure and if we discuss about the latest UGC Guidelines then it clearly stated that from November 1st new session has been started for first year students in online mode. There is no any news regarding reopening of colleges in Maharashtra. As of now online classes system has been adopted by almost all institutions.
